Jennifer O'Grady BIO

Jennifer O’Grady's plays have won awards and been produced and developed throughout the U.S. and internationally. Her work is published in multiple editions of the annual Best Women's Stage Monologues, Best Ten-Minute Plays, and Best New Ten-Minute plays among many other anthologies. Also a widely published and award-winning poet and the author of two poetry books, she grew up in New York City and earned a BA from Vassar and an MFA in Writing from Columbia University. She lives with her family just outside New York City.

The 4th Annual International Stage It! 10-Minute Play Festival has announced the winners for this year's publication, now in it's fourth volume. The unique competition began with open submissions in October, garnering 346 plays from around the world, and a unique adjudication process. The top 25 plays have been selected for publication in Stage It! 4: 10-Minute Plays. The book is released in conjunction with the Festival weekend, March 20-22, where many of the plays will be produced.

For the fourth straight year, Rover Dramawerks is pleased to partner with the playwrights' group 365 Women a Year to present a festival of new plays by women, about women, for everyone. This international playwriting coalition, founded by Jesslynn Eisenberg Chamblee, involves playwrights across the world who have signed on to write one or more plays about extraordinary women in both past and present history. The project's ambitious yet focused goal is to write women back into the social consciousness, as well as empower and promote female playwrights, and plant seeds of herstory around the country.

Irish Rep's Reading Series Continues With CHARLOTTE'S LETTERS, Starring Margo Seibert & More

The Irish Repertory Theatre, which 'encourages the development of works focusing on the Irish and Irish-American experience, and produces works of other cultures interpreted through the lens of an Irish sensibility,' continues the 10th season of the Irish Rep Reading Series.  A staged reading of Jennifer O'Grady's play Charlotte's Letters will be held on Friday, January 29 at 3pm EST at the DR2 Theater, 103 East 15th Street (the Irish Repertory Theatre's temporary home during current renovations).  The Irish Rep's literary manager, Kara Manning, will direct the reading. Tickets are free, and the event is open to the public.  An RSVP to 212-727-2737 is suggested.
