Equity actors for Capital Repertory Theatre's 2025-26 LORT season (see breakdown). No roles will be understudied. Prepared 1-2 minute comedic or dramatic monologue from a contemporary play OR (for those who’d like to be seen for MYSTIC), a brief cut of an up-tempo pop song no more than one minute. Sheet music in the correct key (accompanist will not transpose). Headshot/resume stapled together.

Synopsis: Salem, 2016. Or is it 1692? Reality is a slippery slope for Becky Nurse, whose ancestor was tried for witchcraft on the very spot where Becky now works as a museum guide. When Becky loses her job for sharing her opinions a bit too bluntly with the tourists, she begins to dabble in the dark arts to solve her mounting problems. This scathing comedy shreds the myth of the Salem witches as victims or villains, celebrating the defiant survivor in us all.
Note: The role of Becky Nurse is cast.
Seeking:
BOB – Mid 50s to 60s. Open ethnicity. The local bartender who has been in love with Becky since high school and will do almost anything for her. He’s married, and not to Becky.
STAN – 18+ but can play a high school senior. Open ethnicity. A Wiccan. Several years older than Gail, who he meets and falls for in rehab. He, like the Witch, fully believes in his abilities to help folks through Wicca. (Very much a “Billy” type from Agatha All Along.)
THE JUDGE / THE JAILER – 30 to 50. Open ethnicity. The patriarchy in 2016 and 1692. Rule follower. (JAILER, MAGISTRATE, CREEPY VOICES, and JUDGE.)
GAIL – 18+ but can play a high school sophomore. Open ethnicity. Becky’s granddaughter - and thus, like Becky, a direct descendant of Rebecca Nurse. Motherless. She lives with her grandmother. She is a depressed teenager just out of the hospital for depression. Still in high school and searching for that which will ‘ground her’ and make her certain she will not turn out like her mother. (Plays ABIGAIL in Act 2.)
A WITCH – 60s to 80s. Open ethnicity. A local Salem woman whose trade is that of a “Witch.” She reads palms and tarot and uses crystals and potions, etc., to help her patrons with their wants. She fully believes in her abilities.
SHELBY – 30s. Open ethnicity. The manager of the local museum Becky works at. She has several degrees in art history. She is detail-oriented, rule-based, lover of art, history, and the museum. Whether Becky sees it or not, she’s also working hard to keep the museum open.

Synopsis: The marriage of Jason and Samira has hit a crisis. He’s a white Wall Street banker and she’s a budding actress of Egyptian descent. After Samira plays a cringe-inducing role as a terrorist on a television show, she may finally break out as a star. But Jason fears their relationship will be burned by the glare of the spotlight. He consults an astrologer who instructs them to check into the Hôtel Ritz Paris on the anniversary of the death of another famous interracial couple: Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed.

JASON: 30s, white. A successful investment banker originally from Canada. While generally jovial and happy-go-lucky, he sometimes gets fixated on doom and gloom.
SAMIRA: 30s, Middle Eastern. A US-born child of Egyptian immigrants. A professional actor. She’s passionate and driven, a dreamer, and revels in being enigmatic.

Synopsis: Based on the beloved 1988 movie starring Julia Roberts, this new musical features a treasure trove of pop hits by Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Gibson, Van Morrison, and more. In the small fishing town of Mystic, Connecticut, three girlfriends sling pizza, fall in and out of love, grow up, and never grow out of their loyalty to each other.

JOSEPHINA BARBOZA (JO/JOJO) – Plays 19, Open Ethnicity. The daughter of immigrants. She is vibrant, fast-talking, emotional, curious, ambitious, always up for a laugh, and loyal.
DAISY ARUJO – Female Identifying, plays 19, Open Ethnicity. The daughter of immigrants. A perfect combination of insecurity and arrogance; the seductive life of the party when she needs to be, an introspective dreamer when she doesn’t. A pain in her mother’s ass.
KATHERINE (KAT) ARUJO – Plays 18, Open Ethnicity. The daughter of immigrants. Daisy’s kid sister. The apple of her mother’s eye. A goofy, playful, desperate romantic and aspiring astronomer, on the cusp of the rest of her life.
LEONA SILVA – 50+ (nearing retirement), Open Ethnicity. The immigrant owner of Mystic Pizza and guardian of the “Mystic Pizza” special sauce. A sarcastic, wry, yet loving mother figure for Jo, Daisy, and Kat.
BILL MONTIJO – Plays 20, Open Ethnicity. The son of immigrants. A burly, yet warm, sensitive lobsterman, and lead singer/guitarist in The Lobster Rolls – the local town band, who wants nothing more than to marry Jo and raise a family in Mystic, CT. Acoustic or electric guitar playing a plus.
CHARLES GORDON WINDSOR JR. – Early 20s, White. A country-club, sweater-vest-wearing, Porsche-driving, law-school-drop-out cad, with a surprising capacity for true love.
TIM TRAVERS – Late 20s, Open Ethnicity. An easy-going, Yale-graduate architect, with a secret.
