The Awesome 80s Prom, the celebrated off-Broadway smash hit, now in its fourth year, has recouped its investment, becoming a rare Off-Broadway success story, has launched productions across the US.  While New York audiences continue to party like it's 1989 at the famed nightclub, Webster Hall, it has also enjoyed runs in Minneapolis, Baltimore, and Chicago. And, The Awesome 80s Prom is now available for licensing; it has already been performed at many community theaters and high schools across the country.

Over the last three and a half years, over 50,000 wine coolers were served, over 100,000 packs of pop rocks were consumed and over 200,000 attempts at "The Worm" were tried by folks attending The Awesome 80s Prom.

The Awesome 80s Prom is the acclaimed interactive experience in the style of Tony n' Tina's Wedding and The Donkey Show set at the Wanaget High's Senior Prom… in 1989! All your favorite characters from your favorite '80s movies are at the prom, from the Captain of the Football Team to the Asian Exchange Student, from the Geek to the hottie Head Cheerleader, and they're all competing for Prom King and Queen. And just like on "American Idol," the audience decides who wins, all while moonwalkin' to great retro hits like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go!" Come "Back in Time," to quote a Huey Lewis tune, and join the break-dance circle or just sit back and watch the '80s drama unfold.

The Awesome 80s Prom was conceived and directed by Ken Davenport and written by Davenport and "The Class of 1989", a group of performers including Sheila Berezan, Alex Back, Adam Bloom, Anne Bobby, Courtney Balan, Nicole Cicchella, Mary Faber, Stephen Guarino, Jeff Hiller, Emily McNamara, Troy Metcalf, Jenna Pace, Amanda Ryan Paige, Brian Peterson, Jessica West Regan, Kathy Searle, Mark Shunock, Josh Walden, Noah Weisberg, BranDon Williams, Simon Wong and Fletcher Young.  In addition to THE The Awesome 80s Prom, Ken Davenport is currently presenting the new hit My First Time (a play in the style of The Vagina Monologues, that was recently featured in an iPhone commercial as well as on CNN and Jay Leno) and Altar Boyz (Outer Critics Circle Award winner, Best Off-Broadway Musical).  Ken was profiled in the premiere issue of Experience magazine as a Broadway "up-and-comer" and won an Acclaim Screenwriting Award for his television pilot, "I.C.A." Ken is a member of the BMI Librettist workshop.

The Awesome 80s Prom continues to be performed every Saturday evening at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street), www.websterhall.com
