Casting has been announced for See Rock City & Other Destinations, presented as a BMI Musical Mondays reading on March 26th at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre in the Promenade Theatre Building (76th and Bway, elevator to 3rd floor).  The reading is at 6 PM.

Bick Goss and Frank Evans, artistic producing directors, Anne L Bernstein, consulting producer and Marter Productions in association with Musicals Tonight! present the reading.  The new musical is a collection of short pieces exploring the complexities of modern relationships set at tourist destinations across the country. In addition to Rock City, The Musical Mondays concert includes sneak-previews of The Alamo, Coney Island, as well as a visit to Niagara Falls.

The cast includes Jaclyn Huberman (NYMF's recent Broadway Idol Winner), Joe Cassidy (Freddy in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, William Finn's Make Me a Song), Ben Schrader (Big River National Tour, Artcents Benefit Concert), Michael Busillo (Joy, Texas Homos), Jill Abramovitz (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me) and Steve Routman (Broadway, directed by George Abbott, Shmulnik's Waltz).   Both Abramovitz and Routman have written for Musical Mondays.  Abramovitz is a contributing lyricist to The Wedding Project as well as lyricist of The Dogs of Pripyat and Routman is the lyricist for The Fisher King and Top of World which Musical Mondays produced at the McGinn/Cazalle and for the 2006 SeptemberConcert.

Lyricist/librettist Adam Mathias conceived and co-wrote The Passion of George W. Bush (NY Fringe, Joe's Pub) and is currently developing a new musical with Brad Alexander entitled Big Sky.  Composer Brad Alexander is a NYC-based songwriter-producer whose music has been featured on Sony, VH1, Lifetime and at theaters across the country.  He wrote the music for Theatreworks/USA's Just So Stories.

Director Kevin Del Aguila has directed several productions of his own plays, including his acclaimed comedy 6 Story Building.  He is the book-writer of the hit off-Broadway musical Altar Boyz, which won the New York Outer Critics Circle Award and earned him a Drama Desk nomination in 2005.

Now in its ninth year, Musical Mondays Theatre Lab, founded by Bick Goss, develops new works for the musical theater. To date, twelve of the musicals developed by MMTL have gone on to other venues (off-Broadway and regional theaters) and five of the writers (or writing teams) have been commissioned to write new works for both not-for-profit and the commercial theater.

The BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop was founded in 1961 by BMI and the late Lehman Engel, dean of American musical theatre, to create a setting where new writers could learn their craft. Since its inception, the Workshop has been operated by BMI free of any cost to participants; admission is based on merit.  The workshop, which The New York Times deems "the Harvard of Musical Theatre" received a 2006 Tony Honor, 2006 Drama Desk Award and 2005 Drama League Award.

Admission is $10.00.  For reservations, call 212 989-6708 or e-mail musicalmondays@aol.com. Running time is approximately 55 minutes.  Visit www.bmi.com and www.musicalmonday.org for more information.
