Beginning Tuesday, October 3rd, Chris Hoch will joust across the Shubert Theatre stage as Spamalot's Sir Lancelot.

Hoch replaces Steve Kazee, who played his final performance on October 1st.  He will join a cast that currently includes Harry Groener as King Arthur, Lauren Kennedy as the Lady of the Lake, Lewis Cleale as Sir Galahad, Martin Moran as Sir Robin,  Steve Rosen as Sir Bedevere, Michael McGrath as Patsy, and Christian Borle as Historian.  On October 31st, Jonathan Hadary will be crowned King Arthur while Marin Mazzie will step into the role of the Lady of the Lake.

Hoch has appeared on Broadway in Dracula, as well as Beauty and the Beast, in which he played Gaston.  Other credits include Babes in Arms, Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 and A Connecticut Yankee at Encores!, as well as regional productions of Candide, Zhivago and Caraboo, among others.

Directed by Mike Nichols, the Tony Award-winning Spamalot has a book by Eric Idle, "lovingly ripped-off" from the screenplay of the Pythons' best-loved film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. "Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and their quest for the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Spamalot features a chorus line of dancing divas (and serfs), flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits and a legless knight," state press notes.

Spamalot's book and lyrics are by Idle with a Grammy Award-winning score by Idle and John Du Prez. Other members of the creative team include Casey Nicholaw (choreography), multiple Olivier Award-winners Tim Hatley (sets and costumes) and Hugh Vanstone (lighting) and Acme Sound Partners.

Spamalot opens in London this month and in Las Vegas in March of 2007.  It is currently playing a hit North American tour.
