BWW Reviews: Whether to Re-Up on Marriage - FIFTY WORDS at Everyman by Jack L. B. Gohn (Jan. 23 1:02 PM) - As playwright Michael Weller intelligently conveys, except in the most empty marriages, no matter what the parties may have done to each other, there are still ties of love holding them together. In living through these crises, then, both forces, the centripetal and the centrifugal, must have a part. To the observer, it might seem laughably incoherent, but actually it is just the way things are at such moments.

Drama Learning Center Presents LEGALLY BLONDE, 1/20-29 by BWW
News Desk (Jan. 20 2:00 AM) - Hot off Broadway, Drama Learning Center will present the area premiere of the musical, Legally Blonde! Presented by Teaching Young Actors, Drama Learning Center’s Teen Professional Company, the show will run on selected dates from January 20-29. Legally Blonde is directed by Stephanie Lynn Williams (DLC’s owner and artistic director), with music direction by Tiffany Underwood Holmes, and choreography by Jenny Male.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival to Hold Monthly Meeting and Readings, 1/17 by BWW
News Desk (Jan. 17 5:00 AM) - The Baltimore Playwrights Festival (www.baltplayfest.org) announces its monthly public meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, at Fells Point Corner Theatre. After the meeting, at 8:30 p.m., there will be a staged reading of three ten-minute plays by Susan Middaugh, directed by Micah Chalmer. The readings of Just a Bus Driver, Wronged and Just Another Face in the Crowd will be followed by a discussion of the scripts with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend. |
