(May. 15 12:54 PM) - The Vagabond Players’ final production of its 96th season, Souvenir: A Fantasia On the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins written by Stephen Temperley and directed by Roy Hammond, opens June 1 and runs weekends through July 1.

Glass Mind Theatre's BRAINSTORM FESTIVAL Set for June 1-17

(May. 15 7:04 AM) - Glass Mind Theatre's Brainstorm festival is back, this year with a new twist! Playwrights will be teaming up to tackle 5 brand-new short plays inspired by the Baltimore community. The twist? Each playwright chose a submitted location and were tasked with creating half a play either starting in said location, or ending there. Brainstorm 3: Mind the Gap runs June 1 – June 17, 2012 at Load of Fun Theatre (120 West North Avenue, Baltimore), on Fridays, Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm.

These events will be hosted at Liam Flynn’s Ale House, 22 W. North Avenue, and are free and open to the public.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre Holds Auditions for MET-X Series and More, Beg. 5/14

(May. 14 12:30 AM) - In the coming weeks, Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is holding auditions for three very different projects, including two World Premiere productions. The first of which will be presented as part of MET's series, MET-X, created to expand the collective horizons of the MET ensemble and its audience. The other World Premiere is a community collaboration between MET, Frederick Community College and Hood College that is looking to cast a large ensemble of actors to occupy FCC's Kussmaul Theater this August. Last but not least the MET's resident improv & sketch group, The Comedy Pigs, is hoping to pick up some new players as they enter their twentieth season. These three very disparate projects cast a large net that will offer performers of all levels of experience a chance to seize the spotlight.
