WOB Dinner Theater Announces DEATH: ITÂ'S A DRAG!, Opens 8/16

WOB-Dinner-Theater-Announces-DEATH-ITS-A-DRAG-20010101

Original interactive murder mysteries have become a signature event for The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, one of area's premiere entertainment venues. Throughout the year, the theatre adds these special events to its line-up of shows and activities. These mysteries have become some of the most popular events at Way Off Broadway, drawing sold out houses of enthusiastic wannabe crime solvers for the limited run productions.

Whether in the early days with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie, or the more modern crime writers like James Patterson and Janet Evanovich, people have always been draw to a good mystery. At Way Off Broadway, they get to become a part of the mystery themselves and help solve the case. For the summer, WOB is adding a new installment to its Murder Mystery Club Series with Death: It's a Drag!, which combines The Bird Cage with Law & Order.

Over the years, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre has given audiences in Frederick the chance to play Sherlock Holms and solve some of the most ridiculously funny cases with which a detective could ever be confronted. From the mysterious death of a notorious reality show host to the magical murder of the Narrator from the Land of Fairytales, the most hysterical characters have found themselves being suspected of committing the most heinous of crimes and facing interrogation.

Death: It's a Drag!, by all early accounts, will be one of the most outrageously funny and over-the-top mysteries the theatre has ever seen. This summer, audiences will spend an evening at Club Diva, the hottest nightclub in town. The hottest drag club in town, that is. San Tropez's La Cage aux Folles has nothing on this place. Madame Cassandra, the "Devine Diva," and her "girls" entertain the guests with unbelievable flair. But every performer has their own story. And each one thinks they should be the headliner. Could one of them actually kill to become a star? The entertainment industry can be a real killer. When someone at Club Diva gets the ultimate hook, it will be up to the audience you to solve the case.

Death: It's a Drag! was written and developed by Justin M. Kiska, the "mastermind" behind Way Off Broadway's previous mysteries which include American Icon: This Competition is Murder, The Class Reunion Caper, A Fantasy Fairytale Murder Mystery, Murder by Marriage: A Wedding to Remember, The Case of the Oldest Living Showgirl, and A Rock-n-Roll Golden Oldies Murder.

Performances of Death: It's a Drag! will be on Tuesday, August 16th, Wednesday, August 17th, Wednesday, August 24th, and Thursday, August 25th. Doors open each evening for dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $40 per person and may be purchased by calling the Box Office at (301) 662-6600.

So popular are Way Off Broadway's mysteries that the theatre recently announced a partnership with Walkersville Southern Railroad to produce all of the line's mystery train excursions.
