Scott Alan Back in Recording Studio Working on New Album, 'Keys'

Composer and Lyricist Scott Alan is currently back in the recording studio recording his follow up CD to his successful debut, ‘Dreaming Wide Awake.’

The CD, Keys: The Music of Scott Alan, will feature some of Broadway’s brightest stars.  Among those who will be heard interpreting Alan’s tune’s include:

Lisa Brescia (Aida, Wicked), Titus Burgess (The Little Mermaid), Heidi Blickenstaff ([Title of Show])_Jenn Colella (High Fidelity), Kerry Ellis (Wicked), Sutton Foster (Young Frankenstein; Thoroughly Modern Millie), Hadley Fraser (The Pirate Queen), Randy Graff (Les Miserables; City of Angels),  Megan Hilty (9 to 5; Wicked),  Marcus Paul James (Rent; In the Heights), Norm Lewis (Les Miserables; The Little Mermaid), Julia Murney (Lennon; Wicked), Kate Wetherhead (Legally Blonde), new comer Natalie Weiss and featuring the ‘Monday Nights, New Voices’ choir.

No official tracklisting or release date have yet to be released.

Jesse Vargas (Glory Days), Barbara Anselmi (The Audience), Deborah Abramson (Spring Awakening), Sam Davis (Sinatra, Dream True), Tom Kitt (High Fidelity, Next to Normal) and Jim Abbott (Tarzan) will each serve as an arranger and orchestrator on the project.

To mark the year anniversary of ‘Dreaming Wide Awake,’ Alan has also re-released his debut CD, now titled, ‘Still … Dreaming Wide Awake.’  The re-issue features brand new track , ‘Hold On’ which will be performed by Alan. The re-release will also include four karaoke tracks for ‘I’m a Star,’ ‘Home,’ ‘Never Neverland(Fly Away)’ and ‘Kiss the Air.’   The re-release is only available for purchase  at  http://cdbaby.com/cd/scottalan2.  The original CD, ‘Dreaming Wide Awake, is still available on iTunes.

Alan will mark the release of Keys and the re-release of ‘Still … Dreaming Wide Awake’ with a performance and signing at The Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Nobles on December 1st at 7:30pm, as well as an official CD release concert at Birdland on January 12th at 7pm.   Audiences can expect performers from both CD’s to join Alan for these two events.

In addition to composing, Alan also produced this critically acclaimed New York city series, ‘Monday Nights, New Voices.’  The series, now in it’s fourth year, gives performing opportunities to up-and-coming vocalists and composers and lyricists working in theatre.
