Forum Theatre presents the area premiere of Clementine in the Lower 9, from playwright Dan Dietz, music composed by Justin Ellington, and directed by Derek Goldman May 23 - June 15, 2013. Dan Dietz will be in residence during the rehearsal process. Tickets are $25 for all performances ($20 for seniors, groups, and Round House subscribers; $15 for students and patrons under 30). When Hurricane Katrina tore through New Orleans, Clementine's family scattered to the winds. Nine months later, they are reunited and anxious to rebuild -- but a new storm is brewing. Her husband has arrived from Houston with a strange young girl, who just may be a prophet, and the ghosts of those lost are awakening. Set to the jazz and blues of the Lower Ninth Ward, this modern retelling of Agamemnon delves into the agony and hope that come after the storm.

Cast includes Jeff Allin (Glengarry Glen Ross with Round House Theatre, The Seafarer with The Studio Theatre), Caroline Stefanie Clay (Doubt with National Theatre, The Royal Family with Manhattan Theatre Club), Megan Graves (Taking Steps with Constellation Theatre, Peter Pan: The Boy Who Hated Mothers with No Rules Theatre Company), Thony Mena (The Tempest with Pallas Theatre Collective, Elizabeth at the Tea Party with Flying V Theatre Company), Scott Patterson (DC Musician with Afro House Productions).

"Clementine in the lower 9 is the most ambitious project we've tackled in some time," says Forum Theatre's Artistic Director, Michael Dove. "Its mix of giant-sized themes, environmental staging, and live music will make it quite the experience for the audience. We are also thrilled to have the playwright in residence for this show. Dan Dietz is one of the most exciting writers in the country and I believe that his voice matches perfectly with DC audiences' adventurous tastes."

Creative team includes lighting designer Andrew Griffin**, costume designer Ivania Stack, sound designer Thomas Sowers**, scenic designer Lisi Stoessel, props master George-Edward Burgtorf, coordinating producer Stephanie Junkin, composer Justin Ellington, music director Scott Patterson, dramaturg Hannah Hessel**, stage manager Andy Stoffel, fight choreographer Joe Isenberg, assistant director Brendan Quinn, assistant scenic designer Chloe Berk, and assistant dramaturg Heather Sell.

Performances are Wednesday-Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM with an additional show Monday, June 10, 2013 at 7:30 PM.
