Everyman Theatre Announces AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY Cast

Everyman Theatre has announced the first cast that will perform on its brand new Fayette Street stage. Renowned actress Linda Thorson, well known for her role in the television series The Avengers and over 40 years of experience on the New York and London stage, will join Everyman Resident Company Members Clinton Brandhagen, Deborah Hazlett, Beth Hylton, Wil Love, Bruce Randolph Nelson, and Carl Schurr in the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play, August: Osage County.

One of the most celebrated and critically acclaimed dramas in recent history, August: Osage County, by Tracy Letts, will be making its Baltimore premiere at Everyman Theatre. The theatre company will be opening its brand new, state-of-the-Art Theatre with this inaugural production.

When Beverly Weston, the patriarch of the Weston Family, vanishes one hot summer night, the acid-tongued, pill-popping mother, Violet, summons her grown daughters and their families to reunite at the Oklahoma homestead. Dinner is served, lies are told, and long-held family secrets are unflinchingly revealed. Tracy Letts' comic-tragedy exposes the emotional destruction that rips through generations if nothing stops its path.

Linda Thorson will take on the role of Violet Weston. The Canadian-born actress is perhaps best known for her role on the highly popular television series, The Avengers. She graduated with honors from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. In 1982, she won a Theatre World Award for her work on Broadway in Steaming. Immediately following, she received rave reviews for work in the original Broadway cast of the comedy farce,Noises Off. She has also been seen on Broadway in City of Angels and Getting Married. On London's West End, she has been featured in productions of The Constant Wife, No Sex Please, We're British, and Gigi the Musical. She has also been on the national tours of Equus, Shirley Valentine, and The Sister Rosensweig and has appeared in such US television shows as Star Trek, Law and Order, and One Life to Live. This will be Ms. Thorson's debut at Everyman Theatre.

Joining Ms. Thorson on stage will be Everyman Resident Company Member Carl Schurr (Heroes, You Can't Take It With You, All My Sons) as Violet's husband, Beverly. Company members Deborah Hazlett (You Can't Take It With You, Private Lives, All My Sons) and Beth Hylton (Time Stands Still, All My Sons) will be joined by well-known actress, Maia De Santi (Our Town, Glass Menagerie) as sisters Barbara, Ivy and Karen, respectively.

Rounding out the Resident Company is Bruce Randolph Nelson (You Can't Take It With You, Private Lives) as Karen's fiancé, Steve Heidebrecht, Wil Love (Heroes, You Can't Take It With You) as Charlie Aiken and Clinton Brandhagen (You Can't Take It With You, Fifty Words) as Little Charles Aiken.

Former Everyman Resident Company Member Rob Leo Roy will be returning to the Everyman stage to play Bill Fordham, Barbara's estranged husband and father to 14-year old Jean, played by Towson University's Heather Peacock. Rob was featured in the cast of National Defense, one of Everyman's very first productions before the company had moved into its Charles Street home.

Celebrated DC actress Nancy Robinette will be making her Everyman debut as Violet's sister, Mattie Fae Aiken. Finishing out the cast will Veronica del Cerro as Johnna and Ron Heneghan as Sheriff Deon Gilbeau,
